In a positive development for Pakistan-Bangladesh economic ties, a trade delegation from Pakistan has arrived in Bangladesh after a 12-year hiatus.
During their five-day visit, the Pakistani delegation will meet with key political and business figures in Bangladesh.
Mian Anjum Nisar, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), confirmed that Pakistan has secured an order to export 25,000 tons of sugar to Bangladesh.
According to FPCCI Senior Vice President, Saqib Fayaz Muggon, the current trade volume between Pakistan and Bangladesh stands at $800 million, with the potential to grow to $2 billion.
High-profile meetings during the visit are expected to focus on boosting trade and finalizing new commercial agreements.
The delegation will also meet Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, Muhammad Yunus, and the Finance and Trade Minister to discuss mutual trade interests.
Experts like Aatif Ikram have noted a significant demand for raw cotton from Bangladesh, leading to a shortage of raw cotton in Faisalabad.
