Pakistani squash prodigy Sohail Adnan, 12, made history by winning the gold medal at the Junior Open Squash Championship in the Under-13 category, a victory not seen in 18 years.
Adnan triumphed over Egypt’s Moiz Tamir Al-Mughazi in a thrilling five-game final at the University of Birmingham’s sports center, marking a significant achievement in his career.
Reflecting on his victory, Adnan emphasized that his ultimate goal is to represent Pakistan and make his country proud.
He shared that he started playing squash at the age of five or six, inspired by his family’s deep passion for the sport.
In the past year, Adnan has won three junior titles, including the Scottish and Asian Junior Open, and is now targeting the World Junior Squash Championship in Cairo, Egypt, in July-August 2025.
Adnan called for more investment in squash facilities in Pakistan, particularly at the school level, to nurture young talent and help produce more champions.
