Play of Only 10 More Balls Could’ve Saved Cricket Australia Over $1 Million

Cricket Australia’s first day of the third Test between Australia and India was washed out due to rain at the Gabba. Only 13.2 overs were played, and had 10 more balls been bowled, Cricket Australia could have avoided refunding 30,145 spectators. The board faced a loss of over $1 million since at least 15 overs of play are required to avoid issuing full refunds to the audience.
