The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has acquitted 32 suspects arrested during the D-Chowk protest in Islamabad. These protests were aimed at opposing a government initiative, with allegations of vandalism and violence against the protesters. However, due to a lack of evidence and insufficient grounds, the court dismissed the charges against these individuals.
The protesters were accused of damaging public property and disrupting law and order. During the trial, it was not proven that the accused were involved in such activities. Additionally, the court raised concerns over the investigation and the prosecution’s handling of the case, which contributed to its dismissal.
The ruling highlights procedural lapses and the importance of strong evidence in pursuing such legal actions.
