Pakistan has warned the United Nations Security Council that the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) could increase its activities on Afghan soil, posing a threat not only to Pakistan but also to Afghanistan’s neighboring countries. Pakistan stated that the TTP could potentially become an arm of Al-Qaeda, and by consolidating its position in Afghanistan, it could seek to destabilize the entire region.
Pakistan emphasized that if the TTP gains more strength, it could lead to severe security threats for the country, as the group aims to increase terrorist activities in Pakistan and escalate confrontations with the Afghan government.
Pakistan has called on the international community to take stronger actions against the TTP and its allies, urging them to prevent the group from using Afghanistan as a safe haven, to promote peace efforts in the region.
