Iran Receives Assurances for Protection of Holy Sites in Syria

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, confirmed that assurances were received from various parties regarding the protection of Iran’s embassies and important shrines in Syria. He highlighted that the sanctity of the Zainab and Ruqayyah shrines will be upheld. While acknowledging an intrusion at Iran’s embassy, he clarified that it was unorganized and did not involve armed individuals. Iran also stressed its political support for Syria without aiming to replace its domestic forces.
