Multan, Pakistan – India has lost the hosting rights for the 2025 Blind Women’s T20 World Cup after refusing to allow its cricket team to travel to Pakistan for the ongoing men’s tournament. This decision was made during a meeting of the World Blind Cricket Council (WBCC) in Multan, where India’s refusal to issue visas and no-objection certificates (NOCs) for the event sparked controversy. India’s policy of withholding visas, which also affected the Blind World Cup 2022, led to the revocation of the hosting rights.
The WBCC also decided that until diplomatic tensions between India and Pakistan are resolved, both countries would be prohibited from hosting international blind cricket tournaments. As a result, all future events will be held at neutral venues to avoid visa and NOC-related issues. Furthermore, Pakistan’s Syed Sultan Shah was re-elected as the chairman of the WBCC.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s national blind cricket team continued its success in the ongoing Blind T20 World Cup, advancing to the final after a dominant 10-wicket win over Nepal.
