Objective of the Committee
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has established a committee aimed at addressing the reservations of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and fostering stronger collaboration between the two parties. The committee will work to ensure the PPP remains on board with the government’s initiatives and policies.
Committee Members
The committee includes several key figures, such as Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, and Ahad Cheema. Other members include Amir Muqam, Rana Sanaullah, Malik Ahmed Khan, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Jaffar Mandokhail, and Bashir Ahmed Memon.
Mandate of the Committee
The committee has been tasked with formulating a strategy to address the PPP’s concerns through dialogue with its leadership. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the committee to engage in comprehensive discussions with the PPP to ensure a mutually beneficial resolution.
Bilawal’s Call for an APC in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Recently, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari instructed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi to convene an All Parties Conference (APC) to address the province’s law and order issues.
Briefing on Provincial Affairs
Governor Kundi met with Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari in Karachi, where he provided an update on the prevailing security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The governor also highlighted what he described as the “unfair treatment” of the province by the federal government.
