An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has sentenced 10 individuals involved in the May 9, 2023 violence to prison terms of up to six years along with monetary fines. The convicted include Abid Mahmood, Ahsan Ayaz, Naeemullah, Matiullah, Shaukat, and Zakirullah Khan.
Afghan Nationals Among Convicts
Four Afghan nationals were also among those convicted, identified as Dawood Khan, Younus Khan, Ehsanullah, and Lal Agha.
Case Background
The violence on May 9, 2023, led to the registration of cases against 17 suspects the following day. After thorough investigations, one individual was acquitted, while six suspects remain on the run.
Action Against Absconders
The court has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for the absconding suspects and directed authorities to ensure their arrest and presentation in court.
