Unexpected Mishap on Stage
Indian singer Diljit Dosanjh’s ongoing Dil-Luminati tour took an unexpected turn when he slipped while performing his hit track “Patiala Peg” at a live concert in Ahmedabad. The incident, which was captured on video, quickly went viral on social media.
Despite the slip, Dosanjh recovered swiftly and continued with his performance, maintaining his energetic presence. He briefly paused the music to explain the situation, revealing that the pyrotechnics used during the show had caused fuel to spill onto the stage, resulting in the slip.
Addressing the Incident
Acknowledging the accident, Dosanjh addressed the audience, saying, “Bhai yahan pe fire jo chhodte ho, mat chhodo. Tel aata hai yahan. I am okay,” and urged the organizers to discontinue the use of such pyrotechnics to avoid future mishaps. His calm response and quick recovery were met with applause from the crowd.
The slip also reminded many of a similar incident from the early 2010s, when Dosanjh had fallen during a joint performance with Yo Yo Honey Singh on “Lakk 28.” Despite this earlier mishap, Dosanjh once again demonstrated his resilience by getting back into the rhythm of the show without missing a beat.
Responding to Legal Concerns
Aside from the slip, Dosanjh also took the opportunity to address a recent legal issue. He shared with the audience that he had received a legal notice before his concert in Hyderabad, requesting him to remove references to alcohol and drugs from his songs. While no such notice had been issued for his Ahmedabad performance, Dosanjh responded by adjusting the lyrics of “Patiala Peg” to avoid any potential controversy.
Acknowledging His Artistic Range
In his remarks, Dosanjh reflected on his diverse musical talents, pointing out that he has released numerous devotional songs. He expressed frustration that, despite recently releasing two devotional tracks, his songs like “Patiala Peg” continued to dominate the headlines. He emphasized that his wider contributions to music deserved recognition.
Addressing Alcohol Controversy
In response to the ongoing alcohol-related controversies surrounding his songs, Dosanjh issued a challenge to authorities: “If all states completely ban liquor, I will never sing about alcohol again. At the very least, declare a dry day on my concert dates, and I will refrain from performing any alcohol-related songs.” His remarks were met with applause, as the singer underscored his willingness to adapt in response to societal issues while staying true to his artistic expression.
