After a brief stay in Lahore, Bushra Bibi, Imran Khan’s wife and founding chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has arrived in Peshawar.
She reportedly moved from Zaman Park in Lahore to the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar, according to sources.
Bushra Bibi initially relocated to Bani Gala following her release from Adiala Jail before traveling to Peshawar.
She went to Rawalpindi to meet with Imran Khan and then went back to Lahore, where she stayed at Zaman Park.
Bushra Bibi plans to get dental work done in Peshawar and won’t be participating in political activities, such as the November 9 Swabi protest.
In the meantime, petitions have been filed for acquittal in the Toshakhana case by both Bushra Bibi and Imran Khan.
The unique appointed authority, Shahrukh Arjumand, managed the conference at Adiala Prison.
The accused’s legal team, which included Salman Safdar and Salman Akram Raja, submitted power of attorney documents and requests for acquittal after the court did not bring charges against them.
The acquittal requests were opposed by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), which claimed that the charge process had been deliberately slowed down.
According to FIA prosecutor Zulfiqar Naqvi, the filing of acquittal petitions does not impede the course of the case.
The hearing has been postponed until November 5 after the court sent notices to the parties.
The FIA, on the other hand, has appealed the Islamabad High Court’s decision to grant Bushra Bibi bail and has challenged that decision in the Supreme Court.
The organization says that the high court didn’t take into account evidence that Bashira Bibi was involved in the case about a Bulgari jewelry set that wasn’t in the Toshakhana.
