QUETTA: On Tuesday, three accidents in the Balochistan districts of Sibi, Noshki, and Washuk resulted in the deaths of 12 people and the injuries of 19 others.
The worst accident occurred when a Zambyad vehicle carrying Iranian gasoline collided head-on with another vehicle in Washuk’s Nag area. The people inside both vehicles were unable to escape when they caught fire. Five of them were killed by fire.
The assistant commissioner of Washuk stated, “All the five people present inside the two vehicles burned to death.” It was impossible to recognize the bodies.
On the Quetta-Sibi highway near the Mithri area of the Sibi district, a van headed for Jacobabad collided with a truck, resulting in the deaths of five passengers and the injuries of 13 others. The condition of two of the injured was very bad.
Officials at Levies blamed both vehicles’ excessive speed for the accident. The injured and the deceased were transported to the Sibi District Hospital by Levies and FC personnel.
A wedding party-carrying vehicle overturned in the Daak area of the Noshki district, resulting in two fatalities and six injuries in the third accident. There was a woman among the dead.
