Companies are putting in a lot of effort to innovate and design new AI models to help netizens and improve their user experience as the use of artificial intelligence grows.
According to The Verge, which cited The Information, Google, a global tech giant, is working on AI technology that could take over computers in line with the ongoing AI race.
According to Reuters, the AI model, codenamed “Project Jarvis,” will be able to take control of a web browser and carry out activities like research and shopping.
According to reports, Project Jarvis will only function with a web browser and will specifically target Chrome.
In order to assist users in automating common web-based tasks, the AI tool will take screenshots, interpret them, and then prompt users to either click buttons or type text.
However, the report emphasizes that Google’s plan to reveal Jarvis in December is not final; rather, the company is considering giving the AI model to a limited number of testers to fine-tune its product and fix any bugs.
The new development comes at a time when OpenAI, backed by Microsoft, wants its models to conduct research by browsing the internet on their own with the help of a “CUA,” or computer-using agent, that can act on its findings.
Copilot Vision, the company founded by Bill Gates, will also be able to talk to users about the websites they visit.
In the future, Apple Intelligence is expected to be able to perform tasks across multiple platforms and be aware of what is displayed on the screen, which is important for businesses competing for AI supremacy.
