US Election 2024 On Thursday, former President Barack Obama presided over an all-star rally for Kamala Harris in Georgia. The Democrats are attempting to gain support from the powerful black voter base in the state.
Obama stated to the crowd, “You need to remind folks who were still on the sidelines that the election is about more than policies, values, and caring.”
Actor Samuel L. Jackson, director Spike Lee, and actor and director Tyler Perry, in addition to Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock and rocker Bruce Springsteen, came before Obama.
Opinion polls show that Harris has lost some ground with the black population, despite the fact that Democrats are still expected to win a large majority of black voters.
According to a poll conducted in October by Siena College and the New York Times, 70% of black men said they would support Harris in this election, while 85% said they would support her predecessor Joe Biden in the 2020 election.
It is crucial for Harris’s chances of winning the presidency that they maintain their high turnout for Democrats.
However, there was a palpable sense of excitement at the James L. Hallford stadium in the Atlanta suburbs. The rally was held by Harris in DeKalb County, a reliably Democratic stronghold that is crucial to the success of the Democratic Party in Georgia.
Polls on the election: is Harris or Trump winning?
Democrats are worried as Trump gains ground in a close race. Addressing a crowd of more than 20,000 mostly black voters, every speaker said that Georgians rejected the Republican candidate and former president Donald Trump’s behavior in the past.
Warnock cited Trump’s track record of disseminating conspiracy theories asserting that Obama was not born in the United States.
Additionally, he referred to Trump’s remarks regarding the Central Park Five, a group of black and Latino men who were wrongfully convicted of assaulting a jogger in 1989 but later found not guilty.
Warnock stated, “I do not believe there will be this wave… this significant number of black men will vote for Donald Trump.”
Perry, an actor and producer, carried Warnock’s work forward.
He stated, “There is no dream in Donald Trump’s America that looks like me.”

He made a more general argument on Thursday for men who might like Trump’s tough persona.
Obama stated, “I’ve noticed this, especially with some men, they think Trump’s behavior is a sign of strength.” That is not what true strength entails, and that is why I am here.
After Obama’s speech, a number of rally goers made their way for the exits, making him the main attraction for some.
Nur Ali, who attended the rally with her nine-year-old daughter and remained until the end, stated, “I’m so ready to vote for Kamala.”
Ms. Ali claimed that the student loan forgiveness program implemented by the Biden administration had reduced her debt by more than $200,000.
But seeing Obama, “my guy,” especially excited her.
Nur Ali and her daughter Nur Ali and her daughter Harris herself gave a concluding speech in which she addressed Trump’s suitability for office and her promise to uphold the right to an abortion.
In the final weeks of the campaign, she has attempted to emphasize her economic plans for working Americans while portraying Trump as a threat to democracy.

Kri Pek, who was at Harris’ rally, said, “She’s been the vice president for the past four years.” We are here for her because she is certain to have what it takes.”
LaTanya Taylor was exuberant about the historic significance of her candidacy.
Ms. Taylor stated, “I’m just praying that it goes in her favor, because everybody needs change.”

Trump has argued to black voters that his economic policies would be better for their community than a Harris administration. He has also portrayed the Democrats as a party that takes their votes for granted but does not deliver results.
Those who attended Trump’s Duluth rally on Wednesday found that to be true.
Antonio Kelly, 45, who went to the Trump rally with his family, said, “His views on the border, his views on the economy” won his vote. I like that when he ran for the first time, he did everything he said he would do.
D’Angelo, who is voting for Trump and requested that the BBC withhold his last name, stated, “He’s America first, and the other party is focused on anyone but America.” D’Angelo is supporting Trump.
D’Angelo stated, “Democrats just pander…what I’ve seen from Trump is that he does the things he says he will do.”
