On Tuesday, the GOP’s attempt to reinstate seven election rules that had previously been overturned by a judge was turned down by the Georgia Supreme Court.
The Conservative Public Board (RNC) and the Georgia Conservative Faction had documented a request on Oct. 17 engaging a past decision from Fulton Province Prevalent Court Judge Thomas Cox that considered the principles illegal.
The State Political race Board (SEB) endorsed the guidelines on Sept. 20. To ensure that the results match those generated by the electronic voting system, they require that paper ballots be manually counted on Election Day or the day after.
The story continues below the advertisement. Before certifying the election, the board would be required to make “a reasonable inquiry” into the results, and board members would have access to all election-related documentation.
The court unanimously denied the RNC’s request for an expedited appeal and denied the GOP’s motion to reinstate the state election rules in an Oct. 22 one-page order, preventing the RNC from restoring the rules in time for the upcoming election.
The justices stated in the order, “When the appeal is docketed in this Court, it will proceed in the ordinary cause,” without providing a justification for their decision.

The narrative continues under the advertisement, which reads, “I’m a Republican, and this is a conservative policy organization.” I could do without battling my companions, however in this occasion, fealty to the Georgia Constitution requests it,” Turner said in an Oct. 22 articulation. ” This matter ought to be resolved by today’s ruling, but I am confident that our winning streak will continue if the case goes through the appeals process.
The RNC didn’t answer a solicitation for input by distribution time.
In a statement on social media platform X, Georgia Republican Party Chairman Josh McKoon said that criticism of the state election rules could be “damaging to public confidence in what is expected to be a closely contested election.”
McKoon stated, “The rules that the SEB adopted to reinforce key transparency and checks and balances in Georgia law are common sense.” It is extremely disappointing to observe yet another instance in which our judicial system has failed to swiftly resolve important questions regarding our election process. The following year, we will press our appeal and hope that sanity prevails.
