Other notable contributors included opener Yasir Khan (33 off 22, three sixes, and one four) and Qasim Akram (27 off 21). At number seven, Abdul Samad scored 25 off 15 balls with two fours and as many sixes, and Abbas Afridi scored 18 off 9 balls, but their efforts were ultimately unsuccessful.
Anshul Kamboj, an Indian medium pacer, took three wickets for 33 runs, including the crucial six off captain Mohammad Haris and Samad. He was later voted man-of-the-match. Kamboj received solid support from pacer Rasikh Salam (2-30) and spinner Nishant Sindhu (2-15 off two overs).
Abhishek Sharma (35 off 22, five fours, and two sixes) and Prabhsimran Singh (36 off 19, three fours, and as many sixes) helped India ‘A’ get off to a fast start, scoring 68 in six overs.
Indian skipper Tilak Varma maintained the momentum with a 35-ball 44 with a few fours and as many sixes after Sufiyan Muqeem removed Abishek. Nehal Wadhera made 25 off 22 (two fours and a six) as the Pakistan pacers attempted to limit India ‘A’ from building a major aggregate.
None of the other bowlers, with the exception of Sufiyan (2-28) and Qasim Akram (1-20), were able to impress.
