After receiving treatment, 114 patients were released from the three hospitals; 81 of them had dengue hemorrhagic fever, and four of them were in critical condition.
Sources in the hospital say that 706 patients showed up at three government-run hospitals’ dengue counters, and 108 of them tested positive for dengue.
Dawn was informed by a senior doctor at Holy Family Hospital that between January 1 and October 19, 23,025 patients visited the outdoor patients department of three government-run hospitals, of which 3,203 were confirmed dengue patients.
He stated that three government-run hospitals were the cause of five deaths while the remaining patients returned home after receiving treatment. He stated that there has been an increase in the number of dengue hemorrhagic fever patients over the past month.
Self-medication is the primary cause of the increase, and they go to the hospital when their condition gets worse.
He stated, “The people should not wait for the symptoms of dengue and visit government-run hospitals immediately so their dengue test can be conducted and treatment can begin.”
