On Thursday, media reports that Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar discussed resuming cricket ties during the 23rd SCO summit were denied by India’s spokesman for the foreign ministry, Randhir Jaiswal.
The first Indian foreign minister to visit Pakistan for the SCO summit, Jaishankar arrived there on Tuesday. On Wednesday, Jaishankar and FM Dar had a few words with one another during lunch. The media immediately stated that they were discussing cricket, but when Dawn inquired for confirmation, FM Dar did not respond.
Citing diplomatic sources, the Times of India reported earlier today that the two had “casual conversations.” It added that there was a “brief force to the side”, enduring five to seven minutes, between the two in Tuesday’s supper, during which they were supposedly joined by Inside Pastor and Pakistan Cricket Board Executive Mohsin Naqvi.
“A source talking on state of obscurity said Pakistan proposed resumption of reciprocal cricketing ties as an approach to ‘loosening things up’,” the power source revealed.
In today’s weekly press briefing, a spokesman for the Indian foreign ministry was questioned about the veracity of the alleged development regarding cricket talks. There was nothing of the sort, and the reports you saw were inaccurate.
Pakistan, who won the last version of the Bosses Prize in Britain in 2017, is because of host the February 19-Walk 9 competition.
India has not visited Pakistan since 2008 because of their strained political relations, and the two rivals only play multi-team matches.
