KARACHI: A mini-truck and a car collided on Tuesday evening in Bahria Town Karachi (BTK), resulting in the deaths of two and injuries to 22 others, including children and women.
An Edhi Establishment representative distinguished the departed as transporter Abdul Latif and Raheema Salman.
The majority of the injured, according to Dr. Summaiya Syed, the police surgeon, were in critical condition due to multiple injuries.
According to Gadap City SHO Sarfaraz Jatoi, the accident caused severe damage to both vehicles.
Dawn was informed by Malir SSP Kashif Abbasi that the authorities were looking into the circumstances that led to the accident.
A police official who did not want to be named said that the 20 people in the mini-truck had lost their way to BTK. He also said that the people in it were from a village in the Thatta district, 30 kilometers away from the housing project.
He stated that it appeared that the truck driver was unaware of the housing society’s routes. He hit the car after losing control.
Six ambulances transported the critically ill individuals to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center and the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Trauma Centre of the Dr. Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi.
In the meantime, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah expressed his regret for the deaths and instructed the Karachi Commissioner and deputy commissioner-East to provide the injured with all available facilities.
