Jennie, who is a member of BLACKPINK, has released her new solo video for the song “Mantra.” The video is heavily influenced by the action-comedy film Rush Hour, which came out in 1998. As a nod to the classic film, the video begins with a scene that resembles an opening scene. Jennie demonstrates her signature fashion style throughout the video by posing with a variety of classic cars in various Los Angeles locations, alluding to the setting of Rush Hour.
Jennie is seen in a number of scenes driving color-coordinated vehicles, such as lounging in a blow-up swimming pool, dancing atop a red big rig, and eating from the white Ferrari’s trunk. A DeLorean also makes an appearance, which adds a touch of nostalgia. At the end of the video, Jennie and her dance crew perform in the midst of several burning cars in an intense scene.
The solo efforts of other BLACKPINK members come shortly after the release of “Mantra.” Lisa released her single “Moonlit Floor,” which was inspired by Sixpence None The Richer, and Rosé recently announced her forthcoming album Rosie.
On YouTube, fans can view Jennie’s video for “Mantra.” Soon, we should know more about Jennie’s upcoming solo album.
