The CIA police detained YouTuber Saad Ur Rehman, better known as Ducky Bhai, and his wife Aroob Jatoi on Tuesday night in Lahore’s Model Town after they displayed a weapon in a social media video.
After the content was removed, the couple was released, and no case was filed against them.
A statement has not been issued by the YouTube star and his spouse.
Ducky Bhai is a well-known YouTube vlogger with more than eight million subscribers. He is also well-known for Ducky Extra, a gaming channel with more than two million subscribers. The vlogger occasionally gets into trouble, like when he got into a Twitter argument with a woman who tied a Pakistani flag around her dog’s neck in August 2020, but his fans still love him. In November 2021, he was awarded the Pakistan International Screen Award (PISA) for YouTuber of the Year.
Following Dr. Usman Anwar’s strict legal order against individuals involved in the display of weapons on social media and in celebratory gunfire, the online crackdown on gun pictures follows. In a statement that the police issued on August 8, the IG stated that those who display weapons in TikTok videos should be brought to justice without discrimination.
Ducky Bhai isn’t the only one who has been detained for displaying weapons on social media. Dawn reports that in 2022, a man was detained for displaying weapons on a social media platform.
On the orders of District Police Officer Ahmad Nawaz Shah, the Saddar police arrested Muhammad Shahroz, a well-known TikTok user, for uploading a video in which he is seen displaying illegal weapons.
