Indian cricket board (BCCI) Secretary and newly elected ICC President Jay Shah has announced that players participating in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will earn an impressive ₹7.5 lakh (over PKR 2.487 million) per match.
In a statement on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Shah shared this exciting news with players, revealing that the match fees for IPL 2025 players will range from ₹7.5 lakh to ₹1.5 crore (more than PKR 48.79 million). Additionally, franchises will allocate ₹12.60 crore as match fees for the season.
Currently, players receive a portion of the Player of the Match award based on contracts and their inclusion in the playing XI, but they will now also receive substantial payments as match fees.
It’s worth noting that next year’s ICC Champions Trophy, scheduled for February and March, will coincide with the IPL and the Pakistan Super League (PSL), creating a scheduling conflict that may make it challenging for players to choose between the two leagues.
