Pakistan’s top squash player, Asim Khan, has made history by winning the title at the 2024 Charlottesville Open Squash Championship held in the United States.
In a thrilling final in Virginia, Asim Khan faced England’s top seed, Nick Wall, in a challenging match that lasted 65 minutes. Despite losing the first game 12-14, Asim staged a remarkable comeback, winning the next three games with scores of 12-10, 11-5, and 11-6, ultimately securing the championship title.
This victory marks Asim Khan’s first World Tour title in his career, making it a significant milestone for the young athlete. The Charlottesville Open Championship had a total prize money of $28,750, and with this win, Asim also earned 500 ranking points, which will greatly aid in improving his global ranking.
