In a tragic turn of events, another Indian cricketer has met with a car accident, following the unfortunate incident involving wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant.
According to media reports, all-rounder Musheer Khan was involved in a road accident near Lucknow’s outskirts. The 19-year-old cricketer was en route to Lucknow from his hometown, Azamgarh, to participate in the upcoming Irani Cup, which begins on October 1st. Musheer suffered multiple injuries, including to his neck, but is reportedly in stable condition and out of danger.
Musheer’s father, Naushad Khan, who was accompanying him in the car, only sustained minor injuries. Reports suggest that the accident occurred when their car hit a divider on the Purvanchal Expressway, causing it to overturn. Thankfully, no fatalities were reported.
Unfortunately, doctors have confirmed that due to the severity of his injuries, Musheer Khan will be unable to participate in the Irani Cup and may also miss the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy season. It is expected that the cricketer will be sidelined from all forms of cricket for at least three months.
Musheer Khan is the younger brother of Sarfaraz Khan, a rising star and wicketkeeper-batter for the Indian cricket team.
