Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has met with the Crown Prince of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, where both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation on bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
According to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif expressed satisfaction with the longstanding fraternal and friendly relations between the two countries and reiterated the commitment to further strengthen bilateral ties.
The leaders discussed various aspects of their relationship, ranging from political, economic, and defense cooperation to public and social exchanges.
The statement also highlighted that the Prime Minister of Pakistan expressed a commitment to enhancing economic ties and investment between Kuwait and Pakistan under the Special Investment Facilitation Cell.
Additionally, both leaders reaffirmed their resolve to boost cooperation on bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during the UN General Assembly, agreeing to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, investment, and defense and security sectors.
It was reported that discussions between the two leaders included bilateral issues, with a consensus on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, and security.
Notably, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif arrived in New York on September 24 as part of his five-day visit to the United States, where he will participate in the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister will have a busy day in New York, attending a reception hosted by UN Secretary-General António Guterres for heads of member states, in addition to informal meetings with various country leaders.
Accompanying Shahbaz Sharif on this trip are Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Education and Vocational Training Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.
