Karachi: Senior Pakistani actress Bushra Ansari has expressed her disappointment with people who promote viral sensations like Chahat Fateh Ali Khan.
The viral culture, which is becoming increasingly common in Pakistan and around the world, allows anyone to become an overnight star, much like Chahat Fateh Ali Khan, who gained fame on social media.
Chahat Fateh Ali Khan has sung popular past songs in his unique style and off-key voice, with his most viral song being “Badubadi,” originally sung by the legendary Madam Noor Jahan.
While the social media star’s rendition of “Badubadi” provided entertainment for users, it also gained international recognition.
Many artists from the Pakistani showbiz industry have spoken out against the rise of Chahat Fateh Ali Khan, including Bushra Ansari.
Recently, Bushra Ansari appeared as a guest on comedian Tabish Hashmi’s show “Hansna Man’a Hai,” where she discussed Chahat Fateh Ali Khan’s fame and music.
In response to a question from the host, Bushra Ansari expressed her sorrow over Pakistan’s viral culture and the mentality of the people, questioning the nature of what is being promoted. She stated that this viral trend is beyond her understanding.
Bushra added that she lacks words to describe what Chahat Fateh Ali Khan and others like him are being celebrated for.
The senior actress expressed her pain over the blatant disrespect shown towards music, stating that she cannot tolerate the exploitation of popular past songs and music in such a manner.
