Mumbai: Legendary Bollywood actor and filmmaker Raj Kapoor had a unique condition for meeting his granddaughter, actress Karisma Kapoor, at the time of her birth.
According to Indian media reports, Karisma Kapoor’s mother and Raj Kapoor’s daughter-in-law, Babita, revealed in an interview that her father-in-law had set a condition during Karisma’s birth.
Babita stated that when Karisma was born in 1974, the entire Kapoor family, including Raj Kapoor, was present at the hospital. Raj Kapoor reportedly said that he would only visit the hospital to meet his granddaughter if she had blue eyes.
Babita expressed gratitude that her daughter’s eyes were indeed blue, just like her grandfather Raj Kapoor’s.
It is noteworthy that Karisma Kapoor began her career in the Bollywood industry at the young age of 17, following her grandfather’s wishes, and she was one of the most popular actresses in India in her heyday.
Raj Kapoor, the father of legendary actors Rishi Kapoor and Randhir Kapoor, passed away in 1988 at the age of 63.
