Miley Cyrus enjoyed her own “Party in the U.S.A.” on Wednesday night, making a rare public appearance with her boyfriend, Maxx Morando, at a Future Islands concert in Los Angeles, held at the Shrine Auditorium.
Cyrus sported a casual half-up, half-down hairstyle and wore a black sweater, accessorizing with matching black pieces. Morando, meanwhile, kept it laid-back with loose hair and a navy blue Polo Bear sweater from Ralph Lauren, which retails for nearly $400.
Cyrus and Morando, drummer for the band Liily, have reportedly been dating since 2021 after being set up on a blind date. In February, a source revealed the couple had moved in together and were “very happy,” noting that Morando’s private nature has been a positive influence on Cyrus.
The concert outing comes shortly after the singer was hit with a copyright infringement lawsuit by Tempo Music Investments. The firm claims that Cyrus’ 2023 Grammy-winning hit “Flowers” copied elements from Bruno Mars’ 2012 song “When I Was Your Man.” The lawsuit alleges that the chorus, melody, harmony, chord progressions, and lyrics of “Flowers” were intentionally replicated.
Notably, Bruno Mars is not listed as a plaintiff in the lawsuit.
Cyrus won her first Grammy Awards for “Flowers” in 2024, taking home Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, beating competitors like Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish.
