Two significant changes have been made ahead of King Charles’s much-anticipated tour of Australia, as he continues to battle cancer. The monarch and Queen Camilla are set to embark on a royal visit to Australia and Samoa in October 2024.
Previously, Buckingham Palace announced via social media: “The King and Queen will visit Australia and Samoa, and attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) from 18th – 26th October 2024.”
Commenting on King Charles’s first international tour since his cancer diagnosis in February, royal commentator Cameron Walker told GB News that His Majesty is expected to take “rest breaks” during the visit.
Walker explained, “Two key adaptations have been made. For instance, New Zealand has been removed from the itinerary. Initially planned as part of the tour, it was excluded on doctor’s advice due to the King’s health condition.”
Additionally, Walker noted that the King and Queen Consort will have scheduled rest breaks between October 18th and 26th to maintain the King’s energy levels.
King Charles is currently undergoing cancer treatment, but according to a recent report by the *Daily Mail*, the monarch is “on a very positive trajectory.”
