The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources of the UAE has declared a public holiday on Sunday, September 15, to honor Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday. This holiday applies to the federal government as part of the official holidays set by the cabinet for this year. The celebration aligns with the traditional observance of 12th Rabiul Awwal, the third month of the Islamic calendar.
Following this holiday, UAE residents can look forward to an extended break in December for National Day, with a four-day holiday from December 2 to 5, combining the weekend with the official days off.
In Pakistan, the federal government has also declared a public holiday on Tuesday, September 17, for Eid Miladun Nabi, commemorating the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This closure will affect government, semi-government, private offices, banks, schools, and colleges nationwide.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee in Pakistan confirmed on September 4 that the moon for Rabiul Awwal was not sighted, marking September 6 as the start of the month.
