Selma Blair recently shared her lasting affection for her early acting roles in *Cruel Intentions* and *Legally Blonde* during an interview with *People* magazine at The Daily Front Row’s 11th Annual Fashion Media Awards.
Blair reminisced about her role as Cecile Caldwell in the 1999 cult classic *Cruel Intentions*, praising the film’s lasting appeal and the impressive work of costume designer Denise Wingate. “It makes me so happy that it continues to get attention because that movie is such a good, sexy … I don’t know, talk about wardrobe. I mean, she did an amazing job,” Blair said. She added, “It was one of the most gorgeous movies. It still lasts. It still holds up. And I love it. And I love everyone in that cast.”
Blair admitted that she never tires of watching the film. “I’ll watch it all the time. I mean, I don’t put it on, but if it’s on in the background, I will never turn it off … Like, never.” She feels the same way about *Legally Blonde*, in which she played Vivian opposite Reese Witherspoon’s Elle Woods. “I’ll never turn that off,” Blair said. “Because that’s just really happy … and they have a great energy and they’re beautiful … and I was so thrilled.”
Blair expressed enthusiasm about the younger generation discovering these cherished films from the ’90s and early 2000s. “I hope that things come back in style. My mom always says, ‘Everything always comes back in style,'” she shared. “If they’re fine things, they’ll come back in style, like clothes and actors and fans.”
