Meghan Markle has seemingly complicated Prince Harry’s efforts to reconcile with his family, particularly in light of his attempts to engage in peace talks with his ailing father, King Charles. According to royal author and expert Tom Quinn, recent events have further strained Harry’s relationship with the royals.
Quinn suggested that Harry and Meghan’s successful non-royal tours to Nigeria and Colombia have highlighted the potential benefits of their proposed role as part-time royals, especially given the current health crises within the family. “Meghan views their visit to Nigeria as a significant achievement and a validation of her belief that they should have been allowed to be part-time royals,” Quinn told *The Mirror*. He added that Meghan appears to relish her status, while Harry seems less confident and somewhat disheartened.
Quinn warned that Meghan’s confidence and the apparent success of their tour might exacerbate tensions with Prince William and King Charles. “Harry may not have realized that their recent tour could further anger his family and make them more determined to distance themselves from him,” Quinn noted.
The comments come amidst Prince Harry’s recent secret visit to the UK for his uncle Lord Robert Fellowes’s funeral. Reports indicate that Harry and Prince William did not interact during the event, further highlighting the ongoing rift between them.
