Meghan Markle seems to be encountering a series of setbacks as she navigates a packed calendar this year. The Duchess of Sussex, who is preparing to launch her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, is reportedly facing a chilly reception from a key Hollywood connection, according to insiders.
Close friends of Prince Harry and Meghan revealed to Closer magazine that Meghan feels “humiliated” after Kris Jenner, the influential Kardashian matriarch, seemingly distanced herself from her. Jenner, estimated to be worth $2 billion and known for her connections with Hollywood elites, was among the few to receive Meghan’s limited edition homemade jam from her upcoming brand.
While Jenner reportedly appreciated the gift and enjoys having Meghan “on speed-dial,” she has not been rushing to extend invitations to her Palm Springs gatherings, the source told the outlet.
“Meghan and Harry had initially set their sights on power players like the Obamas, the Clooneys, and other A-listers,” the insider explained. “However, Meghan eventually embraced the idea of collaborating with the Kardashians, given their successful track record in building brands.”
The source suggested that Meghan is “holding on to the hope that once her brand gains momentum, Kris’s interest will return.” Although Meghan is “playing it cool” for now, friends believe she feels disappointed by Kris’s silence.
