Cardi B and Offset have decided to part ways, but there is no animosity between them. According to a source cited by TMZ, the couple remains on good terms, though they have no plans to reconcile.
The estranged pair recently came together to celebrate their son Wave’s third birthday at DreamWorks Water Park in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Cardi B and Offset share two children—Wave, 3, and Kulture, 6—and are expecting their third child.
The source indicated that both musicians have committed to co-parenting their children amicably, as the decision to divorce was carefully considered. A friend of Cardi B told People magazine that the split is something the couple had been contemplating for a while.
In response to rumors that Offset was “more of a distraction than support,” Cardi B clarified on Instagram that he has been supportive in both her personal and professional life. “OK, this is getting weird cause I can say he helps me a lot with my business and the kids,” she posted on August 3rd.
A representative for Cardi B explained to People that the decision to divorce was not based on infidelity but was a long time in the making. “It wasn’t like, ‘Oh, she woke up one day, some incident happened, and this was it,'” the rep stated.
Cardi B, 31, officially filed for divorce last month, a day before announcing her pregnancy, marking the second time she has filed for divorce after initially doing so in 2020 and withdrawing it two months later.
