A Czech firm, Inflatech, has introduced a new inflatable decoy modeled after the F-16 fighter jet, adorned with Ukrainian Air Force markings. This innovative decoy was showcased at the Industry Days defense exhibition in Denmark.
The release of the decoy follows the arrival of the first genuine F-16s in Ukraine. The decoy, a full-scale replica, includes features like a transparent cockpit and wingtip stores.
It remains uncertain whether these decoys will be dispatched to Ukraine or if the Ukrainian insignia is simply a marketing strategy.
Inflatech, renowned for its range of inflatable military decoys, has seen a surge in demand due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Their product line includes decoys for tanks, armored vehicles, and various aircraft, such as the Russian Su-27 and the US UH-60 Black Hawk.
The company’s business has experienced a more than 30% increase since the conflict began, with expectations for further growth. There have been recent reports suggesting that some of the military equipment reported as destroyed might have been inflatable decoys, though these reports have not been independently verified.
