DERA ISMAIL KHAN/LAKKI MARWAT: On Sunday, two soldiers were martyred and three others injured in an attack on a security forces convoy in Kulachi tehsil of Dera Ismail Khan district. In a separate incident, a police constable was killed and three others were injured in an ambush on a police van in Lakki Marwat district.
According to police sources, militants targeted a convoy of security forces and elite troops near the Maddi area in Kulachi tehsil, within the jurisdiction of the Kulachi police station. This attack resulted in the deaths of two soldiers and injuries to others. The deceased soldiers were identified as Havaldar Mohammad Shaukat and Sepoy Mohammad Imran. The injured soldiers were Amjad, Ajmal, and Jahanzeb.
Emergency services, including police, security forces, and Rescue 1122 teams, quickly responded to the incident, transporting the deceased and injured to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dera Ismail Khan.
In Lakki Marwat, militants ambushed a police van, resulting in the death of a police constable. The SHO of Bargai police station and two other constables sustained injuries in the attack. The fallen constable was identified as Nisar Ahmad of the Frontier Reserve Police, while SHO Shakir Khan and the two injured constables were also treated for their wounds.
Authorities dispatched a large police contingent to search for the assailants who had fled the scene.
