An investigation is underway by the North Richland Hills Police Department following a shooting incident where an officer shot a woman on Tuesday.
Authorities received a call around 11:38 a.m. reporting a person in crisis and behaving erratically in the 4200 block of Rufe Snow Drive.
Upon arrival, officers observed a woman causing damage to property in the parking lot before retreating to her apartment.
Efforts were made to establish contact with the woman by knocking on her door. However, she emerged from the front door and brandished a knife, advancing towards one of the officers in a threatening manner.
In response, the officer discharged their service weapon, striking the woman.
The woman was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
