Photos and videos depicting the aftermath of tornado-warned storms that struck North Texas on Saturday night, claiming the lives of seven individuals, including two children, and causing extensive damage to hundreds of homes, may leave many wondering how they can extend support.
AMERICAN RED CROSS DISASTER RELIEF
The American Red Cross swiftly responds when disaster strikes a community, offering relief and recovery services such as sheltering, feeding affected residents, and distributing essential clean-up supplies like shovels, rakes, tarps, and work gloves.
Financial contributions to the Red Cross aid in providing emotional support, recovery planning, and other vital assistance during disasters.
NBC 5 and Telemundo 39 have partnered with the Red Cross to provide critical assistance to tornado and natural disaster victims.

Local Initiatives
COOKE COUNTY: The City of Valley View is accepting donations at the community center located at 101 Lee Street. They are in need of items such as water/Gatorade, non-perishable foods, large black trash bags, personal hygiene products, and diapers.
COOKE COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT: A fund has been established to assist storm victims in obtaining housing and resources. Those willing to contribute can contact First United Bank in Gainesville and inquire about the Storm Relief Fund at 940-665-3484.
KRUM ISD: Krum ISD staff will collect supplies at Bobcat Stadium on Bobcat Boulevard in Krum, Texas, to deliver to Valley View. Donations will be accepted from 2:30 – 5 p.m. on Sunday. Needed items include water, Gatorade, large black trash bags, personal hygiene items, non-perishable food, baby diapers, and baby wipes.
SALVATION ARMY: The Salvation Army of North Texas is deploying a mobile disaster unit to provide food, water, and other assistance to storm-affected areas, including Valley View.
UNITED WAY OF DENTON COUNTY: Donations are being accepted by the United Way of Denton County to support individuals and families impacted by the storms. 100% of the funds collected will be allocated to those in need.
CONSULATE GENERAL OF MEXICO IN DALLAS: The Consulate General of Mexico in Dallas is offering assistance to members of the Mexican community affected by the storms in Cooke and Denton counties. Individuals in need of assistance are encouraged to call the emergency phone number 214-621-0198.
