The Houston Police Department is currently investigating the fatal shooting of a 40-year-old man in northeast Houston that occurred on Thursday evening.
According to reports, the incident took place in the 7900 block of Sunbru Street shortly after 7 p.m.
Upon arrival, HPD patrol officers discovered the victim unresponsive and suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Despite the efforts of paramedics from the Houston Fire Department who arrived at the scene, the man was pronounced dead.
Witnesses reported seeing the victim standing outside on his balcony when two men allegedly approached and opened fire, striking him.
The suspects, described as Black men, fled the scene in a green Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck.
Authorities have not provided details regarding any prior interaction between the victim and the suspects.
