The Rusk County Sheriff’s Office has apprehended a man accused of fatally shooting his girlfriend over the weekend, officials reported.
Authorities responded to a car crash in Rusk County on Sunday following reports and found a woman in the driver’s seat with a gunshot wound to the head.
The victim, identified as 27-year-old Christina Glenn of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Precinct 1, Pat McCrory.
Deputies were able to locate and identify the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Justin Roy Edwards from Houston.
Edwards has been charged with first-degree murder and is currently held at the Rusk County Jail under a $1 million bond.
