The University of Houston men’s basketball team secured a narrow 87-85 victory against Oklahoma at the Lloyd Noble Center this past Saturday night.
This marked Houston’s first visit to Oklahoma since December 17, 2011. In the initial half of the game, the Cougars displayed remarkable shooting accuracy, hitting 67% of their shots and outscoring the Sooners.

At halftime, UH led 48-45 in a closely contested game that saw 17 lead changes and 10 ties.
Guard L.J. Cryer led Houston’s offense with 23 points, while Jamal Shead contributed 14 points and distributed six assists from the backcourt.
On the Oklahoma side, guard Rivaldo Soares tallied a team-high 23 points along with four rebounds.
The game reached a thrilling conclusion when Houston’s Shead secured a game-winning basket with just 0.1 seconds remaining.
Following this victory, Houston improved their overall record to 26-3 for the season and retained their position at the top of the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll.
Houston’s upcoming schedule includes a matchup against Central Florida on Wednesday, March 6, which will be aired on ESPN+. Their final game of the regular season will be against Kansas on March 9, airing on ESPN.
