Another individual has come forward as a victim in the case involving a man charged with kidnapping a pregnant woman and confining her in a locked garage for several years.
Lee Carter, aged 52, faces additional charges as of Wednesday, accused of kidnapping a woman in July 2021 “with the intent to violate and abuse” her sexually, according to court documents.
Earlier in January, Carter was apprehended and charged with the aggravated kidnapping of another woman.
According to statements provided to Houston police, the victim reported that she was pregnant and soliciting donations when Carter abducted her. She recounted being confined inside the garage of his residence on Perry Street in Sunnyside, where she alleged he subjected her to sexual assault and drugged her over a period of up to five years. One neighbor disclosed witnessing her escape attempt.
“A gal comes crawling out that window just there with the boards over it, just crawling her way out. Pregnant, eight months,” the witness described.
In April of the previous year, she managed to escape permanently and informed law enforcement that she frequently overheard Carter arguing with other women elsewhere in the house.
George Powell, Carter’s attorney, has refuted the allegations, asserting that the relationship was consensual. Powell did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding the new charges.
Carter, who claims to have seven children between the ages of 1 and 31 and works as a real estate broker, remains incarcerated. He identifies himself as a rapper on social media under the name “Viper.”
Court records indicate that his bond was revoked following a violation of a no-contact order by contacting the initial victim.
His next court appearance is scheduled for Thursday.
