Exciting news! The Texas Department of Transportation has reported that the roadwork on the I-610 West Loop and I-69 Southwest Freeway interchange project was completed ahead of schedule over the weekend.
TxDOT made the announcement on Sunday, surprising drivers who were anticipating significant traffic disruptions at the busy I-610 West Loop and I-69 interchange.
Originally, all southbound lanes of the West Loop were set to close at I-69 for the entire weekend, from Friday at 9 p.m. until Monday at 5 a.m. Additionally, the southbound lanes of the Southwest Freeway were closed on Friday but reopened on Saturday at 5 a.m.
The entire project is slated for completion by late this year and aims to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance safety at the interchange.
