An Arlington mother, Brandi McDaniel, and her daughter, Hannah, a senior at Pantego Christian Academy, tragically lost their lives in a weekend crash along Interstate 20 in Big Spring.
The incident occurred as they were returning from a high school basketball tournament in Midland with a group of parents and students.
Father Mark McDaniel, who was also in the car, was injured but has since been released from the hospital.
The community, including Pantego Christian Academy students, returned to school, dressed in blue, released balloons, and gathered to write messages of support in honor of Hannah.
The school canceled classes on Monday, remembering Brandi McDaniel’s impact on students and staff at Accommodated Learning Academy in Grapevine.
Father Mark McDaniel serves as a pastor at New Hope Community Church in Venus.
A celebration of life for Hannah and Brandi McDaniel is scheduled for noon on Saturday, Feb. 17, at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Arlington.
