Keith Lee, a prominent social media food critic boasting millions of followers on platforms like TikTok and Instagram, has announced plans to visit Dallas in the near future.
The influencer has reached out to locals for recommendations of small, primarily Black-owned restaurants to feature during his tour of the city. He unveiled his visit intentions in late January and revealed that he would conduct a poll to allow his followers to vote on which establishments he should review.
Lee informed his TikTok audience on Monday, Jan. 22, that he intends to explore restaurants under three distinct categories during his Dallas excursion.
The first category comprises establishments in need of marketing support, the second encompasses those beloved by locals, and the third highlights restaurants serving cuisine from various cultures.
On Friday, Jan. 26, Lee turned to his Instagram followers to inquire about the restaurant they believed best represented Dallas’s culinary scene. Followers were presented with four options: Pangea, Aunt Irene’s, Terry Black’s BBQ, and Kitchen + Kocktail.
Subsequently, on Saturday, Jan. 27, Lee initiated another poll to determine which popular restaurants his followers thought he should visit with his family. The choices included The Cookie Society, Roots Southern Table, Funky Town Food Hall, and Chris & John.
While Lee did not specify an exact date for his upcoming trip to Dallas, he indicated that it would take place soon.
