One man is dead, and another is wounded after a shooting Thursday afternoon in Lewisville between people in two vehicles, police said.
The shooting took place about 2 p.m. in a parking lot in the 200 block of East Round Grove Road, near Valvoline Instant Oil Change and a Popeyes, Lewisville police spokesman Matt Martucci said. Both cars took off from the scene, he said.
One of the vehicles, a black Porsche, was found west of the area in the Bridges at Oakbend apartment complex, 195 East Round Grove Road, Martucci said. There were two men inside, one of whom died from a gunshot wound and the other sent to Medical City Lewisville hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
Police are still looking for the second car, which witnesses described as a Chrysler. Martucci said police do not know if anyone in the second vehicle suffered any injuries.
Police say there is no threat to the community since “it appears the group of men were acquaintances,” Martucci said. Investigators are at the scene of the shooting and the apartment complex, he said.
No additional details were immediately available on the victim’s name and what led up to the shooting.
