Two people died in separate structure fires Thursday in Mesquite, according to media reports.
KXAS-TV (NBC5) reported that Mesquite Fire Department crews responded to a structure fire a little before 2 a.m. in the 300 block of Kimberly Drive, near North Bryan-Belt Line Road. The structure sustained heavy damage, and one victim died in the fire.
o firefighters were injured in the blaze, the news station reported.
Fire crews responded to another call four hours later, a little after 6 a.m., about a fire inside a room of a house in the 2800 block of Ingram Circle, near Pioneer and South Beltline roads, KXAS-TV reported. Firefighters assisted one person to escape the fire, but another person later died after being sent to a hospital.
