An argument in East Fort Worth escalated into a fatal shooting Monday morning.
Officers responded to the 4800 block of Richardson Street, between Village Creek Road and Mountcastle Drive, and discovered one man already dead with a gunshot wound to his upper body, police said. A call log shows police responding to the scene about 10 a.m.
Police said detectives believe the man was arguing with someone who pulled out a handgun and shot him.
The victim was identified by the Tarrant County Coroner’s Office as Mika Chalvez Washington, 52. The coroner’s report listed the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the head.
At least one other person witnessed the incident and is cooperating with officers, according to police.
It wasn’t immediately clear if the suspect and victim knew each other or if the suspect was in police custody.
The investigation is ongoing.
