A 14-year-old boy died Wednesday, almost a week after he was shot by another 14-year-old in North Dallas, police say.
Officers were called to the 12700 block of Merit Drive, near LBJ Freeway and Coit Road, about 6:45 p.m. May 25 and determined a teenage boy shot the victim, according to police.
The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition and died six days later, police said. The Dallas County medical examiner’s office identified him as Kavontai Chandler.
Authorities declined to release the name of the suspect, citing his age.
