HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Rain showers will remain on the decrease overnight setting the stage for a mostly dry Easter weekend.
Saturday starts off cloudy and cool with only a 20% chance of isolated showers. Temperatures will start off in the mid 50s and warm into the low 70s during the afternoon. If you don’t get any sunshine, you may not warm out of the 60s. Winds will blow gently from the north, but it will still feel somewhat damp from all the recent rains.
What’s the forecast for Easter Sunday?
Easter still looks rain-free! While the sky should be dry on Sunday, the ground will likely be wet from all the rain over the last few days. Keep that in mind for any Easter egg hunts. You might want a jacket for any outdoor Easter sunrise services with temperatures around 60 degrees. Temperatures should warm into the mid to upper 70s during the afternoon as sunshine breaks through the clouds.
What’s the outlook for next week?
Rain chances return pretty quickly Monday and Tuesday as an area of low pressure spins up over the northern Gulf of Mexico. This low pressure center may take on some tropical characteristics, but it shouldn’t bring anything concerning our way. Dry air rotating around the broad circulation on a northeast wind should reach us on Wednesday, putting an end to our rain chances. Once the dry air gets here, it will be beautiful for the rest of the work week.
